(A) Lunar New Year Spend & Get Promotion 2019 Terms & Conditions

  1. This Lunar New Year Spend & Get Promotion 2019 ("Promotion") is valid from 1 January to 28 February 2019, both dates inclusive ("Promotional Period") unless otherwise stated, and is offered by HSBC Bank (Singapore) Limited ("HSBC" or the "Bank") to customers:
    1. who hold one or more main or supplementary HSBC credit cards (except HSBC US dollar cards, HSBC corporate cards, and HSBC debit cards) issued by HSBC in Singapore (each, a "Card") as a credit cardholder; and
    2. whose Card account is in good standing with HSBC over the entire Promotional Period and at the time of fulfillment (as determined by HSBC at its discretion),
    (each, such customer a "Cardholder").
  2. HSBC reserves the right to determine at our discretion whether:
    1. Cardholder(s) have met all the requirements of this Promotion; and
    2. Charges made to the Card qualify towards fulfilment of the relevant accumulated minimum Qualifying Spend (as defined below) set for the purposes of this Promotion.
  3. Use of the Gifts (as defined below) is subject to the terms and conditions of the merchant(s) providing the relevant products and/or services; please refer to the respective merchant(s) for details. HSBC is not a supplier of the products and/or services provided by the merchant(s) involved in this Promotion and will not accept any liability in relation thereto. There will be no replacement of lost, defaced, damaged or stolen Gift(s) after issuance.
  4. The Gifts are not exchangeable for cash, rewards points, credit or kind in all cases, whether in whole or in part. HSBC may, at its discretion, substitute the Gift(s) with an item of equal or similar value without prior notice.
  5. The Qualifying Spend accumulated by a Cardholder for this Promotion is not valid for the purpose of, and cannot be used for, any other offers or promotions unless otherwise stated.
  6. For the purpose of this Promotion:

    "Qualifying Spend" means posted retail transactions, including Local Retail Transactions, Online Transactions and Overseas Transactions, charged to a Registered Card (as defined below) account and/or to the account of the supplemental cardholder of the relevant Registered Cardholder (as defined below) BUT shall exclude the Excluded Transactions.

    "Local Retail Transactions" means posted retail transactions (excluding Online Transactions) which are successfully carried out in Singapore and charged in Singapore dollars to a Registered Card account and/or to the account of the supplemental cardholder of the relevant Registered Cardholder.

    "Online Transactions" shall mean all posted retail transactions successfully charged to a Registered Card account and/or to the account of a supplemental cardholder of a Registered Cardholder made via the internet and processed by the respective merchants/acquirers as an online transaction type through the MasterCard International Incorporated and/or Visa Worldwide networks during the Promotional Period and which are successfully captured and posted during the Promotional Period.

    "Overseas Transactions" shall mean all posted overseas transactions successfully carried out outside Singapore and charged in foreign currency to a Registered Card account and/or to the account of a supplemental cardholder of a Registered Cardholder during the Promotional Period and which are successfully captured and posted during the Promotional Period.

    "Excluded Transactions" shall mean any of the following:-
    • foreign exchange transactions (for example but not limited to Forex.com, etc.), cash advances, late payment charges, bank charges, personal loan charges, balance and/or funds transfer transactions, cash instalment plans, tax payments, payments at government agencies, bill payments, insurance premiums, donations, transactions relating to HSBC's Cash Instalment Plan, quasi-cash transactions (for example but not limited to transactions relating to money orders, traveler’s checks, gaming related transactions, lottery tickets) and any other fee charges in respect of a Card. In the case of transactions relating to instalment payment plans of any merchant, only each instalment amount charged to a Card within the Promotional Period qualifies as a Local Retail Qualifying Spend or Qualifying Spend (as the case may be), and not the aggregate amount of the instalment plan;
    • balances owing on Card accounts accruing from any period that does not fall within the Promotional Period;
    • transactions relating to top-ups of any pre-paid card;
    • transactions relating to the trading of securities of any kind including but not limited to any top up of any cash amount required by a financial institution;
    • transactions relating to payments and money transfers made through the internet (including but not limited to Paypal, SKR skrill.com) which are not Online Transactions;
    • any transaction that is subsequently cancelled, voided, disputed or reversed for any reason; and/or
    • such other categories of transactions which HSBC may exclude from time to time without notice or giving reasons.
  7. To participate in this Promotion, a Cardholder must (in no particular order):
    1. successfully register their Card by sending an SMS with the relevant Gift Code in the following format to 74722: CNY<space>HUAT<space>16-digit credit card number (for example: CNY HUAT 4835123456789000) within the Promotional Period (each successfully registered Cardholder shall be a "Registered Cardholder" and the Card used by him/her to make the registration will be a "Registered Card").
    2. (i) Be among the first 1,000 Registered Cardholders to charge a minimum Qualifying Spend of S$2,888 within 1 to 20 January 2019, both dates inclusive ("Qualifying Period 1") to their Registered Card(s); OR
      (ii) Be among the first 1,000 Registered Cardholders to charge a minimum Qualifying Spend of S$4,888 within Qualifying Period 1 to their Registered Card(s); AND / OR
      (iii) Be among the first 1,000 Registered Cardholders to charge a minimum Qualifying Spend of S$2,888 within 21 January to 28 February 2019, both dates inclusive ("Qualifying Period 2") to their Registered Card(s); OR
      (iv) Be among the first 1,000 Registered Cardholders to charge a minimum Qualifying Spend of S$4,888 within Qualifying Period 2 to their Registered Card(s).
    3. Cardholders only need to register their interest once during the Promotional Period to participate in both Qualifying Period 1 and Qualifying Period 2 (i.e. if Cardholder registers in January 2019, he/she will be automatically enrolled for Qualifying Period 1 and Qualifying Period 2). However, to participate in Qualifying Period 1, Cardholders must register by 20 January 2019.
    4. Each Cardholder may register multiple Card(s) under his/her name. However, each Card must satisfy all the conditions set out in Clause 7.
    5. SMS registrations in any other format, and/or with incorrect information will be automatically disqualified. An acknowledgement of participation will be sent to each Cardholder that has successfully registered. SMS delivery of such acknowledgment of participation is dependent on the relevant telecommunication service providers. HSBC is not responsible in any manner whatsoever for any non-receipt of, or delay in the receipt of, any SMS by any party.
    6. By registering for this Promotion, a Cardholder consents to the use of his/her personal data by the Bank to contact him/her with updates and offers relating to this Promotion, including the use of the Cardholder’s telephone number and email address to contact him/her via SMS and email.

  8. Each Registered Cardholder who has satisfied the relevant requirements under Clause 7b.(i) shall be entitled to redeem a 3-piece Skylight Abalone Gift Set worth S$78 ("Gift A"), each Registered Cardholder who has satisfied the relevant requirements under Clause 7b.(ii) shall be entitled to redeem a 5-piece Skylight Double Abalone Gift Set worth S$160 ("Gift B"), each Registered Cardholder who has satisfied the relevant requirements under Clause 7b.(iii) shall be entitled to redeem a Collectible Flashpay Card with value worth S$50 ("Gift C"), and each Registered Cardholder who has satisfied the relevant requirements under Clause 7b.(iv) shall be entitled to redeem a Collectible Flashpay Card Set which comprises of 2 Flashpay Cards, each with value worth S$50 ("Gift D", and collectively with Gift A, Gift B and Gift C, the "Gifts"). Each Gift is limited to the first 1,000 redemptions.

    A Registered Cardholder who has satisfied all the relevant conditions for this Promotion shall be referred to as a "Qualified Cardholder". HSBC shall in its absolute discretion determine if a Registered Cardholder has satisfied the terms and conditions of this Promotion. HSBC’s records relating to this Promotion including any details relating to registration and Qualifying Spend shall be final and binding on all Cardholders.

  9. For each Qualified Cardholder that has successfully registered his/her Card for Qualifying Period 1 in accordance with Clause 7, a unique SMS Code for the purposes of redeeming the relevant Gift ("SMS Code") will be sent to such Qualified Cardholder on or before 28 January 2019.

    For each Qualified Cardholder that has successfully registered his/her Card for Qualifying Period 2 in accordance with Clause 7, a SMS Code will be sent to such Qualified Cardholder on or before 14 April 2019. In the event that a Qualified Cardholder has registered his/her Card more than once in accordance with Clause 7, a SMS Code will be sent to such Qualified Cardholder only in respect of the first registration made. All Gifts are valid while stocks last, on a first-come-first-served basis.

  10. All Qualifying Spend must be posted to a Qualified Cardholder’s Card account by 23 January 2019 for Qualifying Period 1 and by 8 March 2019 for Qualifying Period 2. HSBC accepts no liability for any late submission of any Qualifying Spend by a merchant for any reason.
  11. Each Qualified Cardholder is limited to a maximum of one (1) redemption of either Gift A or Gift B within Qualifying Period 1, and a maximum of one (1) redemption of either Gift C or Gift D within Qualifying Period 2.
  12. HSBC’s records relating to this Promotion including any details relating to registration and Qualifying Spend shall be final and binding on all Cardholders.
  13. Each Qualified Cardholder is required to flash his/her SMS Code and present his/her relevant Registered Card at the following location to redeem the relevant Gift:

  14. All Qualifying Spend transactions must be charged to the same Registered Card. Amounts charged to other Cards in the name of the same Cardholder cannot be added together to fulfill the relevant minimum Qualifying Spend requirements.
  15. HSBC accepts no liability for any late submission of any transaction by merchants for whatever reason.
  16. HSBC reserves the right to vary, delete or add to any of these terms and conditions, or withdraw or alter the Promotion at any time without prior notice.
  17. In case of a dispute, the decision of HSBC shall be final.
  18. Should there be any issues related to this Promotion, the Cardholder is required to contact HSBC at 1800-HSBC NOW (4722 669) or e-mail to direct@hsbc.com.sg.
  19. This Promotion is strictly not valid with other offers or promotions unless otherwise stated. For the avoidance of doubt, Cardholders who register their Card under this Promotion shall not be eligible to participate in any other HSBC’s CNY Campaign 2019 or similar promotion offered by the Bank during the Promotional Period.
  20. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

(B) Lunar New Year Spend & Get Promotion 2019 FAQ

Yes the Qualified Cardholder can forward the SMS containing the relevant unique SMS Code to the proxy. The SMS Code, together with the original or a photocopy of the Qualified Cardholder’s Credit Card to which the relevant accumulated minimum Qualifying Spend was charged should presented by the proxy at the relevant redemption location for verification.

For each Qualified Cardholder that has successfully registered his/her Card for Qualifying Period 1 in accordance with Clause 7, a unique SMS Code for the purposes of redeeming the relevant Gift ("SMS Code") will be sent to such Qualified Cardholder on or before 28 January 2019.

For each Qualified Cardholder that has successfully registered his/her Card for Qualifying Period 2 in accordance with Clause 7, a SMS Code will be sent to such Qualified Cardholder on or before 14 April 2019.

In the event that a Qualified Cardholder has registered his/her Card more than once in accordance with Clause 7, a SMS Code will be sent to such Qualified Cardholder only in respect of the first registration made. All Gifts are valid while stocks last, on a first-come-first-served basis.
