Spring Promotion 2020 Terms & Conditions

 

(A) Terms & Conditions

  1. This Spring Promotion 2020 ("Promotion") is valid from 2 March to 30 April 2020, both dates inclusive ("Promotional Period") unless otherwise stated, and is offered by HSBC Bank (Singapore) Limited ("HSBC" or the "Bank") to customers:
    1. who hold one or more main HSBC credit cards (except HSBC US dollar cards, HSBC corporate cards, and HSBC debit cards) issued by HSBC in Singapore (each, a "Card") as a primary credit cardholder; and
    2. whose Card account is in good standing with HSBC over the entire Promotional Period and at the time of fulfillment (as determined by HSBC at its discretion), (each such customer, a "Cardholder").
  2. HSBC reserves the right to determine at our discretion whether:
    1. Cardholder(s) have met all the requirements of this Promotion; and
    2. Charges made to the Card qualify towards fulfilment of the relevant accumulated minimum Qualifying Spend (as defined below) set for the purposes of this Promotion.
  3. The Qualifying Spend accumulated by a Cardholder for this Promotion is not valid for the purpose of, and cannot be used for, any other offers or promotions unless otherwise stated.
  4. For the purpose of this Promotion:
    "Qualifying Spend" means retail transactions which are Online Transactions, or retail transactions from Eligible Selected Supermarket And Healthcare Merchants that are charged to a Registered Card (as defined below) account and/or to the account of the supplemental cardholder of the relevant Registered Cardholder (as defined below) during the Promotional Period BUT shall exclude the Excluded Transactions.

    "Online Transactions" shall mean retail transactions successfully charged to the Registered Card account and/or to the account of a supplemental cardholder of the Registered Cardholder made via the internet and processed by the respective merchants/acquirers as an online transaction type through the MasterCard International Incorporated and/or Visa Worldwide networks during the Promotional Period BUT shall exclude the Excluded Transactions.

    ** "Eligible Selected Supermarket and Healthcare Merchants" shall mean Cold Storage, FairPrice supermarket, FairPrice Finest, FairPrice Xtra, Market Place by Jasons, Giant, Sheng Siong, Unity Pharmacy, Watson's, Guardian, and does not include FairPrice Xpress and Cheers.

    "Excluded Transactions" shall mean any of the following:-
    • foreign exchange transactions (for example but not limited to Forex.com, etc.), cash advances, late payment charges, bank charges, personal loan charges, balance and/or funds transfer transactions, tax payments, payments at government agencies, insurance premiums, donations, transactions relating to HSBC's Cash Instalment Plan, quasi-cash transactions (for example but not limited to transactions relating to money orders, traveler's checks, gaming related transactions, lottery tickets) and any other fee charges in respect of a Card. In the case of transactions relating to instalment payment plans of any merchant, only each instalment amount charged to a Card within the Promotional Period qualifies as a Local Retail Qualifying Spend or Qualifying Spend (as the case may be), and not the aggregate amount of the instalment plan;
    • balances owing on Card accounts accruing from any period that does not fall within the Promotional Period;
    • transactions relating to top-ups of any pre-paid card (including but not limited to YouTrip, EZLINK, EZ Link,, FlashPay ATU, TRANSIT LINK);
    • transactions relating to the trading of securities of any kind including but not limited to any top up of any cash amount required by a financial institution;
    • transactions relating to payments and money transfers made through the internet (including but not limited to Paypal, SKR skrill.com);
    • any transaction that is subsequently cancelled, voided, disputed or reversed for any reason; and/or
    • such other categories of transactions which HSBC may exclude from time to time without notice or giving reasons.
  5. To participate in this Promotion, a Cardholder must:
    1. successfully register their Card by sending an SMS with the relevant Gift Code in the following format to 74722: PROMO<space>GIFT<space>FULL1<space>16-digit credit card number (E.g.: PROMO GIFT FULL1 4835123456789000) within the Promotional Period (each successfully registered Cardholder shall be a "Registered Cardholder" and the Card used by him/her to make the registration will be a "Registered Card").
    2. (i) Be among the first 2,000 Registered Cardholders to charge a minimum Qualifying Spend of S$1,000 within the Promotional Period to their Registered Card(s)
    3. Cardholders only need to register their interest once during the Promotional Period.
    4. SMS registrations in any other format, and/or with incorrect information will be automatically disqualified. An acknowledgement of participation will be sent to each Cardholder that has successfully registered. SMS delivery of such acknowledgment of participation is dependent on the relevant telecommunication service providers. HSBC is not responsible in any manner whatsoever for any non-receipt of, or delay in the receipt of, any SMS by any party.
    5. By registering for this Promotion, a Cardholder consents to the use of his/her personal data by the Bank to contact him/her with updates and offers relating to this Promotion, including the use of the Cardholder's telephone number and email address to contact him/her via SMS and email.

  6. Each Registered Cardholder who has satisfied the relevant requirements under Clause 5 and 7 shall be entitled to up to S$100 worth of CapitaVouchers (the "Gift"), depending on the Minimum Qualifying Spend tier that is met.

    A Registered Cardholder who has satisfied all the relevant requirements under Clause 5 and 7 shall be referred to as a "Qualified Cardholder". HSBC shall in its absolute discretion determine if a Registered Cardholder has satisfied the terms and conditions of this Promotion. HSBC's records relating to this Promotion including any details relating to registration and Qualifying Spend shall be final and binding on all Cardholders.
  7. If any Qualifying Spend is cancelled or reversed during or after the Promotional Period such that the total Qualifying Spend charged to a Registered Card during the Promotional Period falls short of the relevant minimum Qualifying Spend, the relevant Cardholder will not be considered to have met the Qualifying Spend and will not be considered a Qualified Cardholder.
  8. All Qualifying Spend transactions charged to the Primary Cards in the name of the same Cardholder will be aggregated together to qualify for the minimum Qualifying Spend. HSBC is not responsible for any failure or delay in the transmission of Qualifying Spend transactions by any party including but not limited to acquiring merchants, merchant establishments, or any telecommunications provider.

    Supplementary cardholders are not eligible for this Promotion. However, for each main Cardholder who is a Registered Cardholder, Qualifying Spend made by supplementary cardholders will be consolidated under such main Cardholder's Card account for the purpose of accumulating the relevant minimum Qualifying Spend.
  9. All Qualifying Spend with transaction dates within the Promotional Period must be posted to a Registered Cardholder's Card account by 8 May 2020. HSBC accepts no liability for any late submission of any Qualifying Spend by a merchant for any reason.
  10. Each Qualified Cardholder is limited to a maximum of one (1) redemption of the Gift.
  11. For Qualified Cardholders that are entitled to the Gift, a unique SMS Code ("SMS Code") for the purposes of redeeming the relevant Gift will be sent to such Qualified Cardholder on or before 30 June 2020.

    Each Qualified Cardholder is required to flash his/her SMS Code and present his/her relevant Registered Card at the following location to redeem the Gift:

    Qualified Cardholders must redeem Gift by 30 September 2020. Strictly no extension allowed.
  12. If there any issues regarding the non-receipt of the SMS Code, Qualified Cardholders must contact HSBC by 31 August 2020. In the event of any disputes in relation to the Promotion, HSBC's decision shall be final.
  13. Use of the Gifts (as defined below) is subject to the terms and conditions of the merchant(s) providing the relevant products and/or services; please refer to the respective merchant(s) for details. HSBC is not a supplier of the products and/or services provided by the merchant(s) involved in this Promotion and will not accept any liability in relation thereto. There will be no replacement of lost, defaced, damaged or stolen Gift(s) after issuance.
  14. The Gifts are not exchangeable for cash, rewards points, credit or kind in all cases, whether in whole or in part. HSBC may, at its discretion, substitute the Gift(s) with an item of equal or similar value without prior notice.
  15. HSBC assumes no liability for any Gifts and/or Prizes that are lost during mailing.
  16. The Qualifying Spend accumulated by a Registered Cardholder for this Promotion is not valid for the purpose of, and cannot be used for any other offers or promotions unless otherwise stated.
  17. This Promotion is not valid in conjunction with other promotions, privileges and vouchers.
  18. In the event that a Registered Card is voluntarily or involuntarily cancelled or terminated or suspended for any reasons whatsoever, or a Qualified Cardholder is determined by HSBC (in its sole discretion) not to have fulfilled the conditions of the Promotion for any reason, HSBC reserves the right to forfeit the redemption letter for Gift A or Gift B (where applicable) at its sole discretion.
  19. HSBC's records relating to this Promotion including but not limited to any details relating to registration and Qualifying Spend shall be final and binding on all Cardholders.
  20. HSBC accepts no liability for any late submission of any transaction by merchants for whatever reason.
  21. HSBC reserves the right to vary, delete or add to any of these terms and conditions, or withdraw or alter the Promotion at any time without prior notice.

  23. This Promotion is strictly not valid with other offers or promotions unless otherwise stated. For the avoidance of doubt, Cardholders who register their Card under this Promotion shall not be eligible to participate in any other HSBC credit card promotions or similar promotions offered by the Bank during the Promotional Period. Likewise, Cardholders who register their Card under other promotions shall not be eligible to participate in this Promotion.
  24. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

Q: What is the qualifying spend period of this Promotion?

All Qualifying Spend must be transacted between 2 March to 30 April 2020, both dates inclusive.

Q: How does this Promotion work?

To participate in this Promotion, a Cardholder must:

Q: Do all forms of card spend qualify for this Promotion?

No, only Online Transactions or transactions at Eligible Selected Supermarket And Healthcare Merchants (not including the Excluded Transactions) count towards the minimum Qualifying Spend.

For the purpose of this Promotion:

"Qualifying Spend" means retail transactions which are Online Transactions or retail transactions from Eligible Selected Supermarket And Healthcare Merchants that are charged to a Registered Card (as defined below) account and/or to the account of the supplemental cardholder of the relevant Registered Cardholder (as defined below) during the Promotional Period BUT shall exclude the Excluded Transactions.

Q: I have multiple HSBC credit cards and/or supplementary cards. Can I combine the transactions made on different Cards?

Yes. All Qualifying Spend transactions charged to the Primary Cards in the name of the same Cardholder will be aggregated together to qualify for the minimum Qualifying Spend. HSBC is not responsible for any failure or delay in the transmission of any Qualifying Spend transactions by any party including but not limited to acquiring merchants, merchant establishments, or any telecommunications provider.

Supplementary cardholders are not eligible for this Promotion. However, for each main Cardholder who is a Registered Cardholder, Qualifying Spend made by supplementary cardholders will be consolidated under such main Cardholder's Card account for the purpose of accumulating the relevant minimum Qualifying Spend.

Q: Would I know if I have qualified for the Gift before the end of the Promotional Period?

Note that verification on Cardholders' total Qualifying Spend will only be conducted at the end of the Promotional Period. Only upon verification can we ascertain whether you have met the required minimum Qualifying Spend criteria (refer to Clause 4 of Terms and Conditions for definition of Qualifying Spend).

Q: How will the total Qualifying Spend amount be calculated?

After the Promotional Period, HSBC will verify if the minimum Qualifying Spend has been met by the Registered Cardholder. Qualifying Spend made by supplementary cardholders will be consolidated under the main Cardholder's HSBC Card account for the purpose of accumulating the minimum Qualifying Spend.

Q: Do I have to meet the minimum Qualifying Spend in a single transaction?

No. You may accumulate your Qualifying Spend within the Promotional Period to be eligible for the Gift, where applicable. However, you need to be among the first 2,000 Registered Cardholders to charge a minimum Qualifying Spend of S$1,000 within the Promotional Period to your Registered Card(s).

Q: I have spent S$1,000 on my Card within the Promotional Period, but I did not receive any Redemption SMS. Why is this so?

You may not have been within the first 2,000 Registered Cardholders to have met the relevant minimum Qualifying Spend requirement, OR the total spend amount that you have charged to your Card may not have been a Qualifying Spend (refer to Clause 4 of the Terms and Conditions for definition of Qualifying Spend).

Supplementary cardholders are not eligible for this Promotion. However, for each main Cardholder who is a Registered Cardholder, Qualifying Spend made by supplementary cardholders will be consolidated under such main Cardholder's Card account for the purpose of accumulating the relevant minimum Qualifying Spend.

Q: I have spent S$500 on my Visa Platinum Card and another S$600 on my Revolution Card within the Promotional Period. Since the total Qualifying Spend is more than S$1,000, will I qualify for the Gift if I only register one (1) card?

Yes. All Qualifying Spend transactions charged to the Cards in the name of the same Primary Cardholder will be aggregated together to qualify for the minimum Qualifying Spend. HSBC is not responsible for any failure or delay in the transmission of any Qualifying Spend transactions by any party including but not limited to acquiring merchants, merchant establishments, or any telecommunications provider.

Supplementary cardholders are not eligible for this Promotion. However, for each main Cardholder who is a Registered Cardholder, Qualifying Spend made by supplementary cardholders will be consolidated under such main Cardholder’s Card account for the purpose of accumulating the relevant minimum Qualifying Spend.

Q: When will I be notified if I have qualified for the Gift?

Qualified Cardholders will receive a unique SMS Code ("SMS Code") for the purposes of redeeming the relevant Gift will be sent to such Qualified Cardholder on or before 31 May 2020, barring any unforeseen technical delays.

Q: How and where can I redeem the Gift?

Each Qualified Cardholder is required to flash his/her SMS Code and present his/her relevant Registered Card at the following location to redeem the Gift:

Q: Can a proxy redeem the Gift(s)?

Yes, you can forward the SMS containing the relevant unique SMS Code to the proxy. The SMS Code, together with the original or a photocopy of the Qualified Cardholder's Registered Card should be presented by the proxy at the relevant redemption location for verification.

Q: Are there any other terms and conditions for the Gift?

Use of the Gift(s) is subject to the terms and conditions of the merchant(s) providing the relevant products and/or services; please refer to the merchant for details. HSBC is not a supplier of the products and/or services provided by the merchant(s) involved in this Promotion and will not accept any liability in relation thereto.

HSBC reserves the right to revise any of these terms and conditions, or withdraw or alter any part of this Promotion at any time without prior notice and/or assuming any liability to any party and shall not be liable to pay any compensation or enter into any correspondence in connection with the same.
