October Recurring Payments Promotion Terms and Conditions 2021

(A) HSBC October Recurring Payments Credit Card Promotion 2021 ("Promotion") Promotional Terms and Conditions

  1. This Promotion is valid from 1 October 2021 to 31 January 2022, both dates inclusive ("Promotional Period") unless otherwise stated, and is offered by HSBC Bank (Singapore) Limited ("HSBC" or the "Bank") to customers:
    1. who hold one or more main HSBC credit cards (except HSBC corporate cards, and HSBC debit cards) issued by HSBC in Singapore (each, a "Card") as a credit cardholder; and
    2. whose Card account is in good standing with HSBC over the entire Promotional Period and at the time of fulfillment (as determined by HSBC at its discretion), (each such customer, a "Cardholder").
  2. HSBC reserves the right to determine at our discretion whether:
    1. Cardholder(s) have met all the requirements of this Promotion; and
    2. Charges made to the Card qualify towards fulfilment of the relevant accumulated minimum Qualifying Spend (as defined below) set for the purposes of this Promotion.
  3. This Promotion is limited to the first 2,000 Cardholders who satisfy all of the following requirements ("Qualified Customers") within the Promotional Period:
    1. Register their interest via the HSBC Credit Card Campaign Registration Form ("e‑form") using the Gift Code OCT RECUR from 1 October 2021 to 31 October 2021 (each successfully registered Cardholder shall be a "Registered Cardholder" and the Card used by him/her to make the registration will be a "Registered Card").
    2. Charge at least one (1) Eligible Transaction at any Eligible Merchant (as defined below) to their Registered Card for a period of three (3) consecutive months from 1 November 2021 to 31 January 2022 (For example: 1st Eligible Transaction made on 1 November 2021, 2nd Eligible Transaction made on 1 December 2021 and 3rd Eligible Transaction made on 1 January 2022 at the same Eligible Merchant.) AND
    3. Eligible Transactions have to be at least S$10 in value, and should not be cancelled or refunded by the time of fulfilment.
    4. Do not have a previous recurring transaction with the Eligible Merchant across all Cardholder's HSBC credit cards from 1 August 2021 to 30 September 2021.

    After the Promotional Period, the first 2,000 Qualified Customers will be determined based on the date and time of successful registration by the Registered Cardholder for this Promotion.

  4. Cardholders only need to register their interest once during the Promotional Period.
  5. Registrations in any other format, and/or e‑form registrations with incorrect information will be automatically disqualified. An acknowledgement of participation will be displayed on the website after the e‑form registration has been submitted. This acknowledgement of participation does not equate to qualification of the Gift, even if the Qualifying Spend requirement is met.
  6. Qualified Customers who have satisfied the above requirements under Clause 3 will be entitled to receive a S$15 cash rebate ("Rebate") per Eligible Merchant for the first 2 Eligible Merchants and a S$20 cash rebate for the third Eligible Merchant, subject to a maximum of S$50 cash rebate for 3 Eligible Merchants per Qualified Customer (For example: Customers will receive S$15 for 1 Eligible Merchant, S$30 for 2 Eligible Merchants, and S$50 for 3 Eligible Merchants).
  7. The Rebate will be credited to the Registered Card account by 31 March 2022, after HSBC determines in its discretion that the criteria under this Promotion have been met, barring any unforeseen technical delays.
  8. For the purpose of this Promotion:

    "Eligible Transactions" means retail transactions which are Online Transactions, or retail transactions from Eligible Merchants that are charged to a Registered Card account and/or to the account of the supplemental cardholder of the relevant Qualified Customer during the Promotional Period BUT shall exclude the Excluded Transactions.

    "Online Transactions" shall mean retail transactions successfully charged to the Registered Card account and/or to the account of a supplemental cardholder of the Qualified Customer made via the internet and processed by the respective merchants/acquirers as an online transaction type through the MasterCard International Incorporated and/or Visa Worldwide networks during the Promotional Period BUT shall exclude the Excluded Transactions.

    "Eligible Merchants" shall mean the following:

    Acceptance of recurring bills via HSBC Credit Cards is up to the discretion of the merchant.

    This Promotion is offered solely by HSBC, and any queries regarding this promotion should be directed to HSBC. The merchants listed above are not affiliated with HSBC and have not endorsed this Promotion.

    "Excluded Transactions" shall mean any of the following (which shall, where applicable, be determined based on the transaction descriptions reflected in HSBC's system and the merchant category codes from Visa / MasterCard):
    • Foreign exchange transactions (including but not limited to Forex.com);
    • Donations and payments to religious organisations;
    • Quasi‑cash transactions (including but not limited to transactions relating to money orders, traveler's checks, gaming related transactions, lottery tickets and gambling);
    • Payments made to financial institutions, securities brokerages or dealers (including but not limited to the trading of securities, investments or crypto‑currencies of any kind);
    • Payments on money payments/transfers (including but not limited to Paypal, SKR skrill.com, CardUp, SmoovPay, iPayMy);
    • Payments to any professional services provider (including but not limited to GOOGLE Ads, Facebook Ads, Amazon Web Services, MEDIA TRAFFIC AGENCY INC);
    • Top‑ups, money transfers or purchase of credits of prepaid cards, stored‑value cards or e‑wallets (including but not limited to Grab Top‑Up, EZ‑Link, Transitlink, NETS Flashpay and Youtrip);
    • Any AXS and ATM transactions;
    • Any payments or transactions on Carousell;
    • Tax payments (including HSBC Tax Payment Facility);
    • Payments for cleaning, maintenance and janitorial services (including property management fees);
    • The monthly instalment amounts under the HSBC Spend Instalment;
    • Balance transfers, fund transfers, cash advances, finance charges, late charges, HSBC's Cash Instalment Plan, any fees charged by HSBC;
    • Any unposted, cancelled, disputed and refunded transactions, and such other categories of transactions which HSBC may exclude from time to time without notice or giving reasons.
  9. HSBC accepts no liability for any late submission of any transaction by a merchant for whatever reason.
  10. By registering for this Promotion, an Eligible Customer consents to the use of his/her personal data by the Bank to contact him/her with updates and offers relating to this Promotion, including the use of the Eligible Customer's telephone number and email address to contact him/her via SMS and email.
  11. Qualified Customers whose Registered Card accounts are maintained in good standing and conducted in a proper and satisfactory manner as determined by HSBC in its discretion at the time of fulfillment will be eligible for the Rebate. In the event that the relevant Registered Card is voluntarily or involuntarily closed, terminated or suspended for any reasons whatsoever before the Rebate is accorded to a Qualified Customer, HSBC reserves the right to forfeit the Rebate at its sole discretion.
  12. For the avoidance of doubt, each Qualified Customer is eligible to receive a maximum of S$50 cash rebate under this Promotion, regardless of the number of e‑form registrations or HSBC Credit Cards held.
  13. The Rebate is not exchangeable for cash, rewards points, credit or kind in all cases, whether in whole or in part. The Rebate is also not transferable or replaceable. HSBC reserves the right, at its discretion, to substitute the Rebate with other item(s) of similar value without prior notice.
  14. HSBC reserves the right to vary, delete or add to any of these terms and conditions, or withdraw or alter the Promotion at any time without prior notice.
  15. HSBC's records relating to this Promotion including but not limited to any details relating to registration and Qualifying Spend shall be final and binding on all Cardholders.
  16. In case of a dispute, the decision of HSBC shall be final.
  17. Should there be any issues related to this Promotion, the Cardholder is required to contact HSBC at 1800‑HSBC NOW (4722 669) or e‑mail to direct@hsbc.com.sg.
  18. This Promotion is strictly not valid with other offers or promotions unless otherwise stated. For the avoidance of doubt, Cardholders who register their Card under this Promotion shall not be eligible to participate in any other HSBC credit card promotions or similar promotions offered by the Bank during the Promotional Period. Likewise, Cardholders who register their Card under other promotions shall not be eligible to participate in this Promotion.
  19. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore and the parties submit to the non‑exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
  20. All information is correct at the time of printing.

(B) HSBC October Recurring Payments Credit Card Promotion 2021 ("Promotion") Promotional Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, all primary Cardholders can participate in this Promotion.

No, all registrations must be made by the Main Cardholder and using the Main Cardholder's details registered with the Bank.

Cardholders must register from 1 October 2021 to 31 October 2021, and charge recurring payments for Eligible Merchants for a period of 3 consecutive months from 1 November 2021 to 31 January 2022 (minimally 1 transaction per month for 3 months).

Registrations sent in after 31 October 2021 will not be processed.

An acknowledgement of participation will be displayed after the e‑form is submitted, but Cardholder will need to ensure that the registration details provided is accurate, otherwise he/she will not be successfully registered and will not be eligible for the Promotion. This acknowledgement of participation does not equate to qualification of the Gift, even if all the requirements of the participation is met.

You can save your card on the merchant's app or website to charge for your memberships or subscriptions. You can also go to HSBC Online Banking, select Pay and Transfer, select New payment to a biller, select the Eligible Merchant, complete the payment details, indicate that it is a recurring payment, authenticate the payment and allow it to continue for the period of your membership or subscription.

You can start the recurring payment on 15 October 2021, but you will need to have the recurring payment for 3 consecutive months from 1 November 2021 to 31 January 2022 to be counted towards the Qualifying Spend.

No, it will not be considered as an Eligible Transaction as you have a previous recurring payment that started before the Promotional Period and falls under 1 August 2021 to 30 September 2021. Only new recurring payments from 1 November 2021 onwards will be counted towards the Qualifying Spend.

No, you cannot have a previous recurring transaction with the Eligible Merchant within 1 August 2021 to 30 September 2021. If you have a new recurring payment, it will not be considered as an Eligible Transaction.

No, it will not be considered as an Eligible Transaction as we will need a minimum of 3 transactions across a period of 3 consecutive months from 1 November 2021 to 31 January 2022. Since the third recurring payment of yours will be in February 2022, it will not be qualified.

You will need to charge the qualifying spends for each Eligible Merchant to a single credit card. For example, you can charge 3 recurring transactions from Eligible Merchant A to Card A, and charge 3 recurring transactions from Eligible Merchant B to Card B.
