(A) Mid-Year Campaign 2019 - ATL Terms & Conditions

  1. This Mid-Year Campaign 2019 ("Promotion") is valid from 1 May to 30 June 2019, both dates inclusive ("Promotional Period") unless otherwise stated, and is offered by HSBC Bank (Singapore) Limited ("HSBC" or the "Bank") to customers:) to customers:
    1. who hold one or more main HSBC credit cards (except HSBC US dollar cards, HSBC corporate cards, and HSBC debit cards) issued by HSBC in Singapore (each, a "Card") as a credit cardholder; and
    2. whose Card account is in good standing with HSBC over the entire Promotional Period and at the time of fulfillment (as determined by HSBC at its discretion),
    (each, such customer a "Cardholder").
  2. HSBC reserves the right to determine at our discretion whether:
    1. Cardholder(s) have met all the requirements of this Promotion; and
    2. Charges made to the Card qualify towards fulfilment of the relevant accumulated minimum Qualifying Spend (as defined below) set for the purposes of this Promotion; and
    3. Charges made to the Card qualify as Eligible Online Foreign Currency Transactions, Eligible Overseas Transactions or Eligible Petrol Transactions (each as defined below).
  3. The Qualifying Spend accumulated by a Cardholder for this Promotion is not valid for the purpose of, and cannot be used for, any other offers or promotions unless otherwise stated.
  4. For the purpose of this Promotion:

    "Qualifying Spend" means retail transactions charged to a Registered Card (as defined below) account and/or to the account of the supplemental cardholder of the relevant Registered Cardholder (as defined below) during the Promotional Period BUT shall exclude the Excluded Transactions.

    "Eligible Online Foreign Currency Transactions" shall mean all retail transactions successfully charged in foreign currency to a Registered Card account and/or to the account of a supplemental cardholder of a Registered Cardholder made via the internet and processed by the respective merchants/acquirers as an online transaction type through the MasterCard International Incorporated and/or Visa Worldwide networks during the Promotional Period BUT shall exclude the Excluded Transactions.

    "Eligible Overseas Transactions" shall mean all overseas transactions successfully carried out outside Singapore and charged in foreign currency to a Registered Card account and/or to the account of a supplemental cardholder of a Registered Cardholder during the Promotional Period BUT shall exclude the Excluded Transactions. Transactions that are processed outside Singapore but charged in Singapore dollars are not considered as Eligible Overseas Transactions.

    "Eligible Petrol Transactions" means retail transactions classified under the following Merchant Category Codes: MCC 5541 (Service Stations) and MCC 5542 (Automated Fuel Dispensers) which are successfully carried out in Singapore and charged in Singapore dollars to a Registered Card account and/or to the account of the supplemental cardholder of the relevant Registered Cardholder during the Promotional Period BUT shall exclude the Excluded Transactions.

    "Excluded Transactions" shall mean any of the following:-
    • foreign exchange transactions (for example but not limited to Forex.com, etc.), cash advances, late payment charges, bank charges, personal loan charges, balance and/or funds transfer transactions, cash instalment plans, tax payments, payments at government agencies, insurance premiums, donations, transactions relating to HSBC's Cash Instalment Plan, quasi-cash transactions (for example but not limited to transactions relating to money orders, traveler’s checks, gaming related transactions, lottery tickets) and any other fee charges in respect of a Card. In the case of transactions relating to instalment payment plans of any merchant, only each instalment amount charged to a Card within the Promotional Period qualifies as a Local Retail Qualifying Spend or Qualifying Spend (as the case may be), and not the aggregate amount of the instalment plan;
    • balances owing on Card accounts accruing from any period that does not fall within the Promotional Period;
    • transactions relating to top-ups of any pre-paid card (including but not limited to YouTrip, EZLINK, EZ Link, EZ-Link, FlashPay ATU, TRANSIT LINK);
    • transactions relating to the trading of securities of any kind including but not limited to any top up of any cash amount required by a financial institution;
    • transactions relating to payments and money transfers made through the internet (including but not limited to Paypal, SKR skrill.com);
    • any transaction that is subsequently cancelled, voided, disputed or reversed for any reason; and/or
    • such other categories of transactions which HSBC may exclude from time to time without notice or giving reasons.
  5. To participate in this Promotion, a Cardholder must (in no particular order):
    1. successfully register their Card by sending an SMS with the relevant Gift Code in the following format to 74722: MIDYEAR<space>REBATE<space>16-digit credit card number (for example: MIDYEAR REBATE 4835123456789000) within the Promotional Period (each successfully registered Cardholder shall be a "Registered Cardholder" and the Card used by him/her to make the registration will be a "Registered Card").
    2. (i) Be among the first 1,500 Registered Cardholders to charge a minimum Qualifying Spend of S$3,888 within the Promotional Period to their Registered Card(s); OR
      (ii) Be among the first 1,000 Registered Cardholders to charge a minimum Qualifying Spend of S$5,888 within the Promotional Period to their Registered Card(s).
    3. Cardholders only need to register their interest once during the Promotional Period.
    4. SMS registrations in any other format, and/or with incorrect information will be automatically disqualified. An acknowledgement of participation will be sent to each Cardholder that has successfully registered. SMS delivery of such acknowledgment of participation is dependent on the relevant telecommunication service providers. HSBC is not responsible in any manner whatsoever for any non-receipt of, or delay in the receipt of, any SMS by any party.
    5. By registering for this Promotion, a Cardholder consents to the use of his/her personal data by the Bank to contact him/her with updates and offers relating to this Promotion, including the use of the Cardholder’s telephone number and email address to contact him/her via SMS and email.

  6. Each Registered Cardholder who has satisfied the relevant requirements under Clause 5b.(i) and 11 shall be entitled to a 10% cash rebate (the "Gift 1") on the total Eligible Petrol Transactions, Eligible Overseas Transactions and Eligible Online Foreign Currency Transactions (each as defined in Clause 4) made during the Promotional Period, subject to an overall cap of S$100 per Registered Cardholder; and each Registered Cardholder who has satisfied the relevant requirements under Clause 5b.(ii) and 11 shall be entitled to a 15% cash rebate (the "Gift 2") on the total Eligible Petrol Transactions, Eligible Overseas Transactions and Eligible Online Foreign Currency Transactions (each as defined in Clause 4) made during the Promotional Period, subject to an overall cap of S$200 per Registered Cardholder, in each case as determined by the Bank in its sole discretion ("Cash Rebate"). Gift 1 is limited to the first 1,500 redemptions, and Gift 2 is limited to the first 1,000 redemptions.

    A Registered Cardholder who has satisfied all the relevant requirements under Clause 5 and 11 shall be referred to as a "Qualified Cardholder". HSBC shall in its absolute discretion determine if a Registered Cardholder has satisfied the terms and conditions of this Promotion. HSBC’s records relating to this Promotion including any details relating to registration and Qualifying Spend shall be final and binding on all Cardholders.

  7. For the purposes of calculating Eligible Overseas Transactions, transactions made in foreign currencies will be converted into Singapore dollars based on HSBC’s prevailing exchange rate applicable at the time of exchange.
  8. If any Qualifying Spend is cancelled or reversed during or after the Promotional Period such that the total Qualifying Spend charged to a Registered Card during the Promotional Period falls short of the relevant minimum Qualifying Spend, the relevant Cardholder will not be considered to have met the Qualifying Spend and will not be considered a Qualified Cardholder.
  9. By way of illustration, the table below sets out the Cash Rebates which may be awarded to a Qualified Cardholder who made a minimum Qualifying Spend of S$3,888:

  10. All Qualifying Spend transactions charged to the Cards in the name of the same Cardholder will be aggregated together to qualify for the minimum Qualifying Spend. HSBC is not responsible for any failure or delay in the transmission of Qualifying Spend transactions, Eligible Online Foreign Currency Transactions, Eligible Overseas Transactions and/or Eligible Petrol Transactions by any party including but not limited to acquiring merchants, merchant establishments, or any telecommunications provider.

    Supplementary cardholders are not eligible for this Promotion. However, for each main Cardholder who is a Registered Cardholder, Qualifying Spend made by supplementary cardholders will be consolidated under such main Cardholder’s Card account for the purpose of accumulating the relevant minimum Qualifying Spend.

  11. All Qualifying Spend including Eligible Petrol Transactions, Eligible Overseas Transactions and Eligible Online Foreign Currency Transactions with transaction dates within the Promotional Period must be posted to a Registered Cardholder’s Card account by 8 July 2019. HSBC accepts no liability for any late submission of any Qualifying Spend by a merchant for any reason.
  12. Each Qualified Cardholder is limited to a maximum of one (1) redemption of either Gift 1 or Gift 2.
  13. The Cash Rebate will be credited into a Qualified Cardholder’s first Registered Card account by 16 August 2019, barring any unforeseen technical delays.
  14. The Cash Rebate can only be used to offset future retail purchases and cannot be transferred, withdrawn as cash or used to offset payments such as fund transfers, tax payments, financial charges, late charges, fees and other outstanding balances relating to the Registered Card or any other Card.
  15. The Qualifying Spend accumulated by a Registered Cardholder for this Promotion is not valid for the purpose of, and cannot be used for, any other offers or promotions unless otherwise stated.
  16. This Promotion is not valid in conjunction with other promotions, privileges and vouchers.
  17. In the event that a Registered Card is voluntarily or involuntarily cancelled or terminated or suspended for any reasons whatsoever before the Cash Rebate is credited into the Registered Card account, HSBC reserves the right to forfeit the Cash Rebate at its sole discretion. In the event that a Qualified Cardholder is determined by the Bank (in its sole discretion) not to have fulfilled the conditions of the Promotion for any reason after the Cash Rebate is credited to that Cardholder’s account, the Bank reserves the right to debit that Cardholder’s account for the amount of the Cash Rebate.
  18. HSBC’s records relating to this Promotion including but not limited to (i) any details relating to registration and Qualifying Spend and (ii) any details in relation to the calculation of the Cash Rebate shall be final and binding on all Cardholders.
  19. HSBC accepts no liability for any late submission of any transaction by merchants for whatever reason.
  20. HSBC reserves the right to vary, delete or add to any of these terms and conditions, or withdraw or alter the Promotion at any time without prior notice.
  21. In case of a dispute, the decision of HSBC shall be final.
  22. Should there be any issues related to this Promotion, the Cardholder is required to contact HSBC at 1800-HSBC NOW (4722 669) or e-mail to direct@hsbc.com.sg.
  23. This Promotion is strictly not valid with other offers or promotions unless otherwise stated. For the avoidance of doubt, Cardholders who register their Card under this Promotion shall not be eligible to participate in any other HSBC’s Mid-Year Campaign 2019 or similar promotion offered by the Bank during the Promotional Period.
  24. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

(B) Mid-Year Campaign 2019 - ATL FAQ

All Qualifying Spend must be transacted between 1 May to 30 June 2019, both dates inclusive.

To participate in this Promotion, a Cardholder must (in no particular order):

  1. successfully register their Card by sending an SMS with the relevant Gift Code in the following format to 74722: MIDYEAR<space>REBATE<space> 16-digit credit card number (for example: MIDYEAR REBATE 4835123456789000) within the Promotional Period (each successfully registered Cardholder shall be a “Registered Cardholder” and the Card used by him/her to make the registration will be a “Registered Card”).

You will receive an acknowledgement SMS reply to confirm your registration. However, this does not mean that you have successfully qualified for the Cash Rebate, even if you have successfully met the minimum Qualifying Spend.

Note that verification on Cardholders’ total Qualifying Spend will only be conducted at the end of the Promotional Period. Only upon verification can we ascertain whether you have met the required minimum Qualifying Spend criteria (refer to Clause 4 of Terms and Conditions for definition of Qualifying Spend).

After the Promotional Period, HSBC will verify if the minimum Qualifying Spend has been met by the Registered Cardholder. Qualifying Spend made by supplementary cardholders will be consolidated under the main Cardholder’s HSBC Card account for the purpose of accumulating the minimum Qualifying Spend.

No. You may accumulate your Qualifying Spend within the Promotional Period to be eligible for the Cash Rebate, where applicable. However, you need to be among the first 1,500 Registered Cardholders to charge a minimum Qualifying Spend of S$3,888 within the Promotional Period to your Registered Card(s), or be among the first 1,000 Registered Cardholders to charge a minimum Qualifying Spend of S$5,888 within the Promotional Period to your Registered Card(s).
