Mid-Autumn Campaign 2019

(A) Mid-Autumn Spend & Get Promotion 2019 Terms & Conditions

  1. This Mid-Autumn Spend & Get Promotion 2019 ("Promotion") is valid from 15 July to 18 August 2019, both dates inclusive ("Promotional Period") unless otherwise stated, and is offered by HSBC Bank (Singapore) Limited ("HSBC" or the "Bank") to customers:
    1. who hold one or more main HSBC credit cards (except HSBC US dollar cards, HSBC corporate cards, and HSBC debit cards) issued by HSBC in Singapore (each, a "Card") as a primary credit cardholder; and
    2. whose Card account is in good standing with HSBC over the entire Promotional Period and at the time of fulfillment (as determined by HSBC at its discretion), (each such customer, a “Cardholder”).
  2. HSBC reserves the right to determine at our discretion whether:
    1. Cardholder(s) have met all the requirements of this Promotion; and
    2. Charges made to a Card qualify towards fulfilment of the relevant accumulated minimum Qualifying Spend (as defined below) set for the purposes of this Promotion.
  3. Use of the Gifts (as defined below) is subject to the terms and conditions of the merchant(s) providing the relevant products and/or services; please refer to the respective merchant(s) for details. HSBC is not a supplier of the products and/or services provided by the merchant(s) involved in this Promotion and will not accept any liability in relation thereto. There will be no replacement of lost, defaced, damaged or stolen Gift(s) and/or Prize(s) after issuance.
  4. The Gifts and Prizes are not exchangeable for cash, rewards points, credit or kind in all cases, whether in whole or in part. HSBC may, at its discretion, substitute the Gift(s) or Prize(s) with an item of equal or similar value without prior notice.
  5. For the purpose of this Promotion:

    "Qualifying Spend" means posted retail transactions which are Local Retail Transactions, Online Transactions or Overseas Transactions, charged to an Offer 1 Registered Card (as defined below) account and/or to the account of a supplemental cardholder of the relevant Offer 1 Registered Cardholder (as defined below) BUT shall exclude the Excluded Transactions.

    "Local Retail Transactions" means posted retail transactions (excluding Online Transactions) which are successfully carried out in Singapore and charged in Singapore dollars to an Offer 1 Registered Card account and/or to the account of a supplemental cardholder of the relevant Offer 1 Registered Cardholder.

    "Online Transactions" means posted retail transactions successfully charged to an Offer 1 Registered Card account and/or to the account of a supplemental cardholder of an Offer 1 Registered Cardholder made via the internet and processed by the respective merchants/acquirers as an online transaction type through the MasterCard International Incorporated and/or Visa Worldwide networks during the Promotional Period and which are successfully captured and posted during the Promotional Period.

    "Overseas Transactions" means posted overseas retail transactions successfully carried out outside Singapore and charged in foreign currency to an Offer 1 Registered Card account and/or to the account of a supplemental cardholder of an Offer 1 Registered Cardholder during the Promotional Period and which are successfully captured and posted during the Promotional Period. Transactions that are processed outside Singapore but charged in Singapore dollars are not considered as Overseas Transactions.

    "Excluded Transactions" means any of the following:-
    • purchases at Travel Agencies and Tour Operators and Steamship and Cruise Lines of Merchant Category Code (MCC) 4722 and 4411 respectively;
    • foreign exchange transactions (for example but not limited to Forex.com, etc.), cash advances, late payment charges, bank charges, personal loan charges, balance and/or funds transfer transactions, cash instalment plans, tax payments, payments at government agencies, insurance premiums, donations, transactions relating to HSBC's Cash Instalment Plan, quasi-cash transactions (for example but not limited to transactions relating to money orders, traveler’s checks, gaming related transactions, lottery tickets) and any other fee charges in respect of a Card. In the case of transactions relating to instalment payment plans of any merchant, only each instalment amount charged to a Card within the Promotional Period qualifies as a Qualifying Spend, and not the aggregate amount of the instalment plan;
    • balances owing on Card accounts accruing from any period that does not fall within the Promotional Period;
    • transactions relating to top-ups of any pre-paid card;
    • transactions relating to the trading of securities of any kind including but not limited to any top up of any cash amount required by a financial institution;
    • transactions relating to payments and money transfers made through the internet (including but not limited to Paypal, SKR skrill.com) which are not Online Transactions;
    • any transaction that is subsequently cancelled, voided, disputed or reversed for any reason; and/or
    • such other categories of transactions which HSBC may exclude from time to time without notice or giving reasons.
  6. To participate in Offer 1: Spend and Get Mooncakes from Mandarin Oriental, Singapore, a Cardholder must:
    1. Register his/her Card by sending an SMS with the relevant Gift Code set out below in the following format to 74722: PROMO<space>GIFTCODE<space>16-digit credit card number (for example: PROMO MIDAUTUMN PEONY 4835123456789000) within the Promotional Period (each such successfully registered Cardholder shall be a “Offer 1 Registered Cardholder” and the Card used by him/her to make the registration will be a “Offer 1 Registered Card”).
      1. Be among the first 800 Offer 1 Registered Cardholders to charge a minimum Qualifying Spend of S$3,000 to their Offer 1 Registered Card during the Promotional Period; OR
      2. Be among the first 300 Offer 1 Registered Cardholders to charge a minimum Qualifying Spend of S$6,000 to their Offer 1 Registered Card during the Promotional Period.
    Each Offer 1 Registered Cardholder which fulfils the relevant eligibility criteria for this Offer 1 will be entitled to redeem the gifts set out below (each, an “Offer 1 Gift”):

    Each Offer 1 Registered Cardholder may only redeem a maximum of one (1) Offer 1 Gift (regardless of the number of Cards registered by him/her under this Offer 1)
  7. To participate in Offer 2: Redeem a box of Conrad Centennial mooncake with your rewards points, a Cardholder must register his/her Card by sending an SMS with the relevant Gift Code set out below in the following format to 74722: PROMO<space>MIDAUTUMN FULL or PROMO<space>MIDAUTUMN PARTIAL<number of boxes to be redeemed><space>16-digit card number (for e.g. PROMO MIDAUTUMN FULL1 4835123456789000) within the Promotional Period (each such successfully registered Cardholder shall be a “Offer 2 Registered Cardholder” and the Card used by him/her to make the registration will be a “Offer 2 Registered Card”).

    Each Offer 2 Registered Cardholder which fulfils the relevant eligibility criteria for this Offer 2 will be entitled to redeem the gifts set out below (each, an “Offer 2 Gift”):

    If an Offer 2 Registered Cardholder has made a successful redemption under this Offer 2, HSBC will debit the required number of Rewards Points from his/ her Offer 2 Registered Card account by 27 August 2019. If an Offer 2 Registered Cardholder does not have sufficient Rewards Points in his/her Offer 2 Registered Card account, he/she will not be eligible to participate in this Promotion and no Rewards Points will be deducted from his/her account. If an Offer 2 Registered Cardholder has indicated that he/she wishes to redeem multiple boxes of Offer 2 Gifts but does not have sufficient Rewards Points for the redemption, the Bank will allocate the number of boxes of Offer 2 Gifts that he/she can redeem. If an Offer 2 Registered Cardholder has registered his/her Card using the Gift Code “PARTIAL”, he/she consents to HSBC debiting S$38 from his/her Offer 2 Registered Card account, for each box of Offer 2 Gift redeemed by him/her under this Offer 2.
  8. Offer 1 Registered Cardholders and Offer 2 Registered Cardholders who fulfill the relevant eligibility criteria under Offer 1 or Offer 2 (as the case may be) will receive an SMS for the redemption of the relevant Offer 1 Gift or Offer 2 Gift(s) (as the case may be) (collectively, the “Gifts”) by 28 August 2019. SMS registrations in any format other than the relevant formats specified above, and/or with incorrect information will be automatically disqualified. An acknowledgement of registration will be sent to each Cardholder that has successfully registered his/her Card. SMS delivery of such acknowledgment is dependent on the relevant telecommunication service providers. HSBC is not responsible in any manner whatsoever for any non-receipt of, or delay in the receipt of, any SMS by any party.
  9. HSBC’s records relating to this Promotion including any details relating to registration and Qualifying Spend shall be final and binding on all Cardholders
  10. All Qualifying Spend transactions must be charged to the same Offer 1 Registered Card. Amounts charged to other Cards in the name of the same Cardholder cannot be added together to fulfill the relevant minimum Qualifying Spend requirements.
  11. Supplementary cardholders are not eligible for this Promotion. However, for each main Cardholder who is an Offer 1 Registered Cardholder, Qualifying Spend made by supplementary cardholders will be consolidated under such main Offer 1 Registered Cardholder’s Offer 1 Registered Card account for the purpose of accumulating the relevant minimum Qualifying Spend.
  12. HSBC accepts no liability for any late submission of any transaction by merchants for whatever reason.
  13. HSBC reserves the right to vary, delete or add to any of these terms and conditions, or withdraw or alter the Promotion at any time without prior notice.
  14. In case of a dispute, the decision of HSBC shall be final.
  15. Should there be any issues related to this Promotion, the Cardholder is required to contact HSBC at 1800-HSBC NOW (4722 669) or e-mail to direct@hsbc.com.sg.
  16. This Promotion is strictly not valid with other offers or promotions unless otherwise stated. For the avoidance of doubt, Cardholders who register their Card under Offer 1 of this Promotion shall not be eligible to participate in any other Mid-Autumn 2019 or similar promotion offered by the Bank during the Promotional Period.
  17. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

(B) Mid-Autumn Spend & Get Promotion 2019 FAQ

15 July to 18 August 2019, both dates inclusive.

For the purpose of this Promotion:

"Qualifying Spend" means posted retail transactions which are Local Retail Transactions, Online Transactions or Overseas Transactions, charged to a Registered Card (as defined below) account and/or to the account of a supplemental cardholder of the relevant Registered Cardholder (as defined below) BUT shall exclude the Excluded Transactions.

"Local Retail Transactions" means posted retail transactions (excluding Online Transactions) which are successfully carried out in Singapore and charged in Singapore dollars to a Registered Card account and/or to the account of a supplemental cardholder of the relevant Registered Cardholder.

"Online Transactions" means posted retail transactions successfully charged to a Registered Card account and/or to the account of a supplemental cardholder of a Registered Cardholder made via the internet and processed by the respective merchants/acquirers as an online transaction type through the MasterCard International Incorporated and/or Visa Worldwide networks during the Promotional Period and which are successfully captured and posted during the Promotional Period.

"Overseas Transactions" means posted overseas retail transactions successfully carried out outside Singapore and charged in foreign currency to a Registered Card account and/or to the account of a supplemental cardholder of a Registered Cardholder during the Promotional Period and which are successfully captured and posted during the Promotional Period. Transactions that are processed outside Singapore but charged in Singapore dollars are not considered as Overseas Transactions.

Customers will need to follow these steps -

  1. To participate in Promotion 2: Redeem a Conrad Centennial mooncake gift set with your rewards points, a Cardholder must (in no particular order):

  2. If you have made a successful redemption under this Promotion, HSBC will debit the required number of Rewards Points from your card account by 27 August 2019. If you do not have sufficient Rewards Points in your card account, you will not be eligible to participate in this Promotion and no Rewards Points will be deducted from your account. By opting for Gift Code “PARTIAL”, you also give consent to HSBC to debit S$38 from the credit card that was used to register for this promotion in addition to debiting the required number rewards points for this redemption.

Customers who have made successful redemptions under this Promotion, will receive a redemption SMS on 28 August 2019.
